“ speak a good word or remain silent ”

―Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Riyad as-Salihin 18, Hadith 1

The Quran instructs Muslims to speak in the following manners :

(Speak kindly) Quran 2:83

(Speak truthfully) Quran 3:17

(Speak justly) Quran 6:152

(Speak graciously) Quran 17:23

(Speak fairly) Quran 17:28

(Speak politely) Quran 17:53

(Speak no lie) Quran 22:30

(Speak gently) Quran 20:44

(Speak not in vein) Quran 23:3

(Speak straight) Quran 33:70

a Good Word like a Good Tree :

( the example of a good word like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches high in the sky. the example of a bad word is like a bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, not having any stability )

Who is the best Muslim?

  1. he is the one from whose tongue and hands the Muslims are safe
  2. he is the one from whose tongue and hand the people are safe

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) defined the true Muslim as one who avoids harming others with his tongue (words) and hand (actions).
