وَإِن تَعُدُّوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

If you were to count the blessings of Allah, never would you be able to number them. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

―Quran 16:18

I think this is such a beautiful verse and it is one of my favourite verses in the Quran from chapter An-Nahl (The Bee) 16:18. Not only does the Quran remind us to worship one God and to believe in the last Prophet, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), but the Quran also asks us to think, ponder and reflect upon the signs around us!! Look at how Allah created us!! Our eyes to see, our ears to hear and even our hearts which beat on average 115,200 times a day!!

Look at our hands!! Such an amazing design, not even a robot can replicate the fluidity of them!! The way our organs work in such perfect harmony — and how the blood circulatory system delivers nutrients and oxygen to all cells in the body. The list of blessings is just endless and the fact that we don’t have to worry about making our bodies work — all of that is taken care of! So many blessings that Allah has given us and I’ve only just talked about the body, beyond that, we have the world and all its stunning creations to appreciate as well!! No wonder Allah says: “If you were to count the blessings of Allah, never would you be able to number them.” Surely, that is something to reflect upon.
